Be the changeDelta Kappa Nu is a social sorority based in Australia, which is focused on social and philanthropic activities to improve the lives of marginalised communities around the world. Sharing fun friendship, and sisterhood, Delta Kappa Nu helps its members grow to be well rounded pillars of the community. In reality, it means a group of wonderful women who get together on a regular basis, to share and celebrate their lives and make charitable contributions to worthy causes. Think the Brotherhood lunch club, without all the bad press.

SisterhoodCommunity is very important to Delta Kappa Nu.
Members are selected based on their contributions to society and their ability to contribute to their chapters. Delta Kappa Nu is a non-hazing sorority, and welcoming to those of the LGBT community. We are open to all religions, political persuasions, philosophies, cultures and races. We do not tolerate bigotry of any kind. Forget what you have seen in the movies, a sorority woman can be anyone, in any shape, who has the dedication and spirit to contribute. |
The Delta Principle
A Delta Kappa Nu member is one who values friendship and philanthropy and believes in their ability to effect change in the world for all marginalised communities. They do not have to be a college student, but they must be someone who values knowledge. A Delta Kappa Nu member is of good character and strives to live up to the ideals and founding principles of our organisation.

PhilanthropyPhilanthropy is a special part of the Delta Kappa Nu sisterhood. Every meeting involves some form of philanthropy, even if it is just a small donation.
Through our annual charity fundraising events, Delta Kappa Nu will be supporting the National Breast Cancer Foundation’s breast cancer research programs. If you’d like to make a donation or read more about NBCF, please click here (www.nbcf.org.au). |
The Sorority Ideal"The sorority idea means close friendship fostered by long association in common interests. The sorority ideal is the symmetrically developed woman, the result of close confidence and lasting friendships with a few congenial spirits." – Ida Shaw Martin, The Sorority Handbook, 1909, p23
This quotation, written well over 100 years ago, still holds true to this day. Women need and enjoy places where they can grow and develop lasting friendships and fellowship, and the sorority offers them such a space. |
We acknowledge the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung People of the Kulin Nation, who are the Traditional Owners of the land on which our organisation was founded, and pay our respect to their Elders past, present and emerging. We pay our respect to the traditional owners of the lands on which we meet all around the world.
Delta Kappa Nu Sorority, Inc. is welcoming to everyone who would like to be a sister, not just cis-ters.
